Warehouse workers are essential for ensuring smooth operations in a warehouse environment. Their responsibilities typically include the following:
1. Receiving and Processing Shipments
- Unloading goods from delivery trucks.
- Inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verifying shipment accuracy against purchase orders or invoices.
- Logging and organizing received items.
2. Inventory Management
- Counting and tracking inventory levels.
- Conducting regular inventory checks to prevent stock discrepancies.
- Properly labeling and storing goods to ensure easy retrieval.
3. Picking and Packing Orders
- Picking items from storage based on order requirements.
- Ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Packing goods securely for shipping.
- Preparing shipping labels and documentation.
4. Maintaining Equipment and Tools
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other machinery.
- Performing routine checks and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
5. Ensuring Workplace Safety
- Adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Keeping work areas clean and organized to prevent accidents.
- Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
6. Assisting with Logistics and Planning
- Collaborating with team members to optimize warehouse layout and workflow.
- Communicating with supervisors regarding stock shortages or overages.
- Coordinating with drivers and logistics personnel for timely shipments.
7. Record-Keeping and Documentation
- Updating inventory management systems.
- Documenting damaged, missing, or returned items.
- Maintaining accurate logs for shipments and deliveries.
8. Schedule: Five-day work week, shifts from 6:00 to 14:00 or from 14:00 to 22:00.
